A mandatory evacuation order has been issued in the Hollywood Hills following the spread of the wildfires raging across Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) said there was an "immediate threat to life" in the area and that it was being legally closed to the public.

The new blaze lit up near Runyon Canyon, which is in the vicinity of iconic Los Angeles locations and tourist destinations. No homes were said to be damaged.

Nearly 2,000 homes, businesses, and other structures have been destroyed in the Eaton and Palisades fires, and the number is expected to increase. The five deaths recorded so far were from the Eaton Fire.
